Our mission

I have been training dogs since 2004 and in that time I have noticed that most training methods are confusing, difficult and they just don't work out quite the way you had hoped. Since realizing this I have made it my mission to use simplified training methods, making them easier to understand, put into action and will show honest improvement. Leaving out the difficulty and confusion, these methods help me teach you to train your dog with great results.

About

About me/my experience:
My name is Emily Bright, I am 16 years old and I am a dog enthusiast. I have been in dog training since 2004 and have been trained by Susan and Jennifer Crank, among others. Jennifer is a 3 time world medalist agility competitor and has attended multiple national agility championships. Susan is a dog trainer of 30 years with over 25 MAChs (Master Agility Champion) and has attended multiple national agility championships.

I started dog training with agility and have the most experience with dog agility. I have recieved multiple titles and first place ribbons and I have been trialing for 2 years. I have trained Bindi from a pup and continue to teach her new things every chance I get. I am currently training my dog Bindi to be ready to qualify for the 2012 AKC agility nationals.

Shortly after starting agility I started learning about the clicker and shaping. I then started teaching simple tricks, once I got Bindi I started teaching the more difficult tricks and learning the more specifics of clicker training. I have taken Rally-Obedience classes with Bindi, which have been very successful. Our instructors were Cindy and Elsa Warren, who have multiple high level APDT Rally-O titles

I continue to learn anything I can about dogs and their training so I can continuously broaden my knowledge. I like to keep up with all of the new methods while still keeping hold of the classics; creating a perfect mix of ‘oldschool’ and ‘newschool’.

About my methods:
My methods are a complete balance of reinforcement and correction. I use tools such as clickers, treats, toys, slip chains, prong collars, muzzles and more. When training a dog I  make sure to mark good and bad behavior, so the dog knows  when he is right and when he is wrong. Each time I mark a  behavior, I am giving the dog information on what I want. So when  I mark good AND bad behavior, I am giving the dog as  much information as I can. Ultimately setting him or her up for  success.

My mission is to better the relationships between owner and dog  by bettering the understanding of how to train your dog in an effective,  simple, balanced manner.
